Zelda & Hip-Hop. What a Link-up...

I love Zelda. I also love hip-hop. So this album, The Ocarina of Rhyme, is an absolute dream.

It includes all the classic themes from the N64 smash-hit 'Ocarina of Time', considered by most to be the best Zelda ever (I personally prefer Link to the Past on the SNES but hey). Over the top of these tunes are cleverly layed hip-hop tracks by the likes of Common, Dre and Spank Rock. I don't think it's even an official album. I got it on the down-low aiiiiiiiiiii.

Check out this track, it's Common's 'I used to love H.E.R.' over the Hyrule Village theme.

Makes me want to dig out the old N64 and play it all over again...

Curry's Star Wars ad

Are these the droids you're looking for? Brilliantly done Curry's ad, beautifully shot and amazing that the wipes are true to the original Star Wars films. For some reason, the R2 looking in the washing machine is my favourite shot.

Better than all 3 new Star Wars films put together. Thank god George Lucas didn't direct it.

And it shits on all Star Trek, ever.

Good to know where you've been innit. Not enough foreign shoots I must add (only Hong Kong, Portugal, Spain twice...) Note to self: must sort this out.

Saw uber-trendy Yeasayer at the Roundhouse last night...

Their 'Madder Red' video is a proper beaut.

The Dark Side of the Lens

I used to surf with this guy, Mickey Smith, back in the day.

He's now an established surf filmmaker, specializing in the freezing, outer limits of UK surfing. The guy puts his life on the line each time he gets some shots.

Respect indeed.

Distort O'Clock

I've always been really into distorted photography, whether it be reflections, images over-layed or just warped. So, I'm blown away by these. They're are awesome, and what makes them even more amazing is that they're actually oil paintings, not photos. Incredible.

They're by an artist called Gregory Thielker. Here's the full gallery. Respec'.

A load of balls

Here's the original script that Juan sold the famous Sony 'Balls' idea in with. I love seeing ideas raw like this. I wonder if he still has the original bit of beermat he wrote it on, or the bit of Letterman footage?
